Our Immediate Life Support Instructor (ILSi) course is designed for healthcare professionals seeking to become certified ILS and Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) instructors. This comprehensive programme equips candidates with the skills and confidence to effectively teach life-saving techniques to their peers.
The ILSi certification, recognised across the UK, EU, and Australia, provides a solid foundation for delivering impactful training in both adult and paediatric emergency care settings.
Validity: 4 years
Entry requirements: Instructor Potential (IP) Candidates Only

This one-day Instructor Course combines a blend of interactive lectures, practical skill stations, and immersive simulation sessions to provide a complete learning experience. Held at our RCUK- accredited training centre, each course is led by experienced instructors who have completed a rigorous RCUK instructor programme. This ensures that the content is consistent and of the highest quality across all our courses.
To support newly certified instructors, we offer mentorship and assessment on their first two teaching sessions to help consolidate the skills acquired during the course.
The ILS Instructor course is fully accredited for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) by the Medical, Dental, and Nursing Royal Colleges and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), making it a valuable addition to any healthcare professional’s portfolio.

The ILSi course operates differently compared to our other training programmes. Instead of accepting open applications, potential ILS Instructors are selected from participants attending one of our Immediate Life Support (ILS) courses. During these sessions, our Course Directors and Faculty assess each candidate’s performance and identify individuals with strong teaching aptitude. Those who stand out are then recommended for Instructor Potential (IP) status and receive an invitation to enroll in the ILSi course.
The course fees include the cost of registration and course materials. Please click on your desired date for prices.
Yes. Candidates will be awarded 15 CPD points for successful completion of the ILS course.
All our ILS courses are capped at a maximum of 6 participants. This is aimed at maximising personalised attention and ensuring each participant gains ample hands-on experience throughout the course. With a focus on quality over quantity, our approach guarantees a deeper understanding and mastery of crucial lifesaving skills in a supportive, interactive environment.
To be eligible for a refund on any course fees paid, a minimum notice of 21 days prior to the course start date is required, subject to a £15 administration fee. Cancellations made within 21 days of the course date are not eligible for a refund, due to the difficulty of filling course vacancies at short notice. However, we provide the option to transfer your enrolment to another candidate. Should you wish to do so, please contact us on [email protected] quoting your booking number, course date and new candidate name and we will be happy to transfer the booking free of charge.
Should you fail to successfully complete your course assessment, your assessor will offer comprehensive feedback explaining why the assessment criteria were not met. You will then receive a tailored support plan outlining actionable steps for improvement, in preparation for reassessment.
